Mental Load SOS

Half a day to talk it all through (at your pace and around your schedule) and figure out how to make life feel less full-on.

The never ending to-do list inside your head is in control of your life.

You wake up, tumble through as many tasks as humanly possible, and fall into bed. The list is still there screaming at you when you wake up.

Everywhere you look and every conversation you have either adds a new item to the list, or reminds you of one that’s already there.

You keep hearing about the importance of self-care but when the hell are you supposed to fit that in?!

There’s only so long you can keep doing this before you either lose it completely or crash and burn.

You’ve tried getting help, but that brings new problems and it’s easier to just do it yourself. And you can’t drop anything because it’s all feels important.

Surely there’s more to life?

There is. Let’s figure it out together.

During our Mental Load SOS, we’ll use voice notes to talk it all through.

We’ll cover it all - from the laundry mountain and unfinished home projects, to the eleventy-billion birthdays you have to remember and the fact that your partner is oblivious to all plates you’re single-handedly spinning.

I can tell you now that getting it all off your chest is like therapy in itself.

But we won’t stop there.

We’ll figure out what’s going to make the biggest difference and work out how to make it happen.

  • You CAN drop things from the list

  • You CAN find time for you

  • And you CAN shift the balance from must-dos to want-to-dos

You just can’t see how (yet).

Hi, I'm Lesley!

In my day job, I’m an Efficiency Expert (yes, really). For 15 years, my job has literally been to find quicker and easier ways to do things. In my personal life, I’m the one people turn to for advice. I’m a good listener, and I’m even better at thinking up practical solutions to real life problems.

For 18 months, my eldest woke up 5–10 times a night. There was no way I could get everything done on such little sleep.

So I found another way. I ruthlessly prioritised, I let things go, I found quicker ways of doing things.

I made sure I could catch up on sleep. My eldest is now 3 years old and I use the same tactics to juggle the juggle while keeping my sanity and finding time for myself.

Let's do the same for you.

Mental Load SOS is for you if:

  • You feel overwhelmed and need something to give

  • You know something needs to change but you don't know what or how

  • You barely get any time to yourself as there's just not enough time

  • You feel like you're surviving more than thriving

  • You frequently feel anxious, stressed, or like you're constantly playing catch up

How Mental Load SOS Works

1. You’re stuck in a hamster wheel and have no time to just chill, let alone to pick up that long forgotten hobby.

You decide you want more from life, but you’d like help working out what to change and how.

Click the button below to book your Mental Load SOS.

2. Once you’ve paid, I’ll message you to arrange a mutually convenient day (I aim to find a slot within a week, often sooner).

I recommend using an app called Voxer for our session but if the thought of getting your head round a new app makes you physically recoil, we can just use WhatsApp (or whatever you’re comfortable with), no stress. More on Voxer in the FAQs below.

You’re all set - no preparation needed.

3. On the day. I’ll message you to say hi and to let you know I’m ready.

You can start by unburdening yourself with whatever is bothering you, or I can ask you questions to get the conversation started.

We’ll chat back and forth throughout the morning/afternoon. You can go make a cup of tea or do the school run before replying. It’s designed to fit around your life so there's no need to change your plans. (It’s also fine, and often helpful, to pause and reflect between messages).

4. Armed with everything we’ve talked about, I will make suggestions on what I think will make  the biggest difference to your mental load in the shortest amount of time. The focus here is quick wins with big impact.

Sometimes this is right at the end of the session, sometimes it is the day after (depending on time and whether some thinking time will lead to a better outcome for you).

We will agree on 3-4 things you can action right away to make that change happen.

5. After our session, you can continue to chat to me for 14 days.

People find this helps to:

  • Tweak the plan and sort out those "I forgot to say..." points

  • Help you get the stuff done that you want to get done

  • Have a personal cheerleader and trouble-shooter on hand as you put the plan in place

NEED SOMETHING TO GIVE?

I found the process of talking things through with Lesley incredibly helpful. Verbally laying things out and getting them out of my head helped reduce the power they had and I could ‘see’ them more clearly.

Lucy

Lesley helped me to see that I could take more control of my working day. She suggested some really simple, practical steps I could put into practice right away which gave me back control.

Megan

Our chat empowered me to prioritise the things that make me happy in my personal life. I can now see a clear path, with achievable goals, to reaching a better balance.

FAQs

What is Voxer and why do you recommend it?

Voxer is an app, very similar to WhatsApp (you can send text messages and voice notes) but there's 1 big advantage and 1 smaller one.

1) You can start listening to my voice message before I've finished recording it (and vice versa), which means we can cover more, quicker (particularly helpful with longer messages).

2) Our phone numbers aren't shared. Personally, I'm not too worried about that as I'm sure you will respect my privacy outside of our session, in the same way that I will respect yours.

Do we have to use Voxer?

No. I appreciate that getting your head around a new app can feel like another big thing on your already too long to-do list so I'm very happy to use WhatsApp or another app you aready know and like that has text and voice messaging.

I don't know where to start and my brain dump might not be coherent

That’s absolutely fine, and not uncommon! The purpose Mental Load SOS is for me to work that out for you (and with you). I will ask you questions and you just have to answer them in whatever higgledy piggledy way the answers pop into your mind.

I'm embarrassed to admit I'm not coping

Firstly, please know that you are not alone. So many people feel exactly the same way *I've got that t-shirt myself!). Secondly, it's not your fault. We live in a world where we are led to believe that we just need to try harder or be better to keep all the plates spinning but that simply isn’t true, nor is it possible.

What we need to do is to make our lives easier - and no-one teaches us how to do that! But I will 🙂 And needless to say that our conversation will be completely confidential.

My Promise

It's really important to me that you find my products and services helpful. So, if you don't feel that you got your money's worth out of this purchase, just let me know within 30 days and I will be happy to refund you. (This hasn't happened yet).
